What exactly happens if one day I can't care for my pet?
Karmapet activates in any situation that stops you being there: a hospital stay, a fall, a sudden health problem or a death. It's not just for the end: it's a plan for any moment when you can't take charge and your pet needs someone to step in right away.
How does Karmapet know something has happened to me?
Through the Smart Activation Protocol (PAI). It detects unusual patterns of inactivity in your day-to-day and, if something doesn't add up, it starts a verification process before mobilising anyone. Only when something is confirmed to be wrong does your care network kick in.
Who would care for my pet?
First, the trusted people you name: family, friends, neighbours. If none are available at that moment, Karmapet's verified backup network of caregivers steps in, so your pet is never left without someone by their side.
And all the legal side? It sounds complicated.
We leave it all arranged with two real tools: the preventive power of attorney (Spain's Law 8/2021) for cases of incapacity, and the legacy with a duty of care for the event of death. On the Premium plan we handle the online notarial process for you, with no paperwork or admin on your part.
Is this only for older people?
Not at all. It's for anyone who lives with a pet and wants to arrange what would happen if one day they couldn't be there, whether they're 28 or 70. What unites the people who trust Karmapet isn't age: it's the bond, and the wish to protect it to the end.
